City

Phoenix, AZ

For one month every fall, a corner of central Phoenix turns into something that feels borrowed from another decade — midway lights, fried everything, and a grandstand full of people who drove in from all over the state.

The Arizona State Fair returns to the Arizona State Fairgrounds from October 1 through November 1, 2026, with a 2026 theme of "A State of Wonder." It runs Thursdays through Sundays, and it is one of the easiest big nights out to turn into a proper group event.

Why the Fair Is Better With a Driver

The fairgrounds sit at 1826 W. McDowell Road, right in the middle of the city. That is convenient for almost everyone in the Valley and brutal for parking.

On a Friday or Saturday night the surrounding lots fill fast, the surface streets back up, and a group arriving in three separate cars will not walk in together.

A party bus or limo removes every one of those problems. You are dropped at the gate as one group, and your driver is waiting in the same place when you are done — no shuttle lot, no long walk in the dark, no designated driver drawing the short straw.

The Coliseum Concert Series

The fair is not just a midway. The 2026 Coliseum Concert Series brings real headliners, and every concert ticket includes fair admission.

  • Fri, Oct 2 — Gin Blossoms
  • Fri, Oct 9 — Becky G
  • Sat, Oct 10 — All Time Low
  • Fri, Oct 16 — The Offspring
  • Sat, Oct 17 — Russell Dickerson
  • Sat, Oct 24 — Public Enemy

Shows start at 7 p.m. with no opening acts, which makes the timing clean. Arrive at six, walk the midway, eat your way down the row, and be in your seats without rushing.

Building a Fair Night That Feels Like an Occasion

The state fair is a nostalgia trip, and nostalgia trips are best shared. Some of the strongest group bookings we run each October are built around it.

Birthdays and milestone celebrations. The fair gives you a built-in itinerary — rides, games, food, a concert — with none of the planning weight of a restaurant reservation for eighteen people.

Family and multi-generational groups. Grandparents, parents and kids in one vehicle, one drop-off, one pickup. No one gets separated and no one navigates.

Company and team outings. An easy, low-pressure alternative to the same catered ballroom. Pick up at the office, spend four hours at the fair, drop everyone home.

Pair It With the Rest of the Night

The fairgrounds are close to everything. Downtown Phoenix is minutes away, and Old Town Scottsdale is a short ride for groups who want to keep going after the gates close.

Because your driver stays with you, adding a second stop costs you nothing but time on the clock. That flexibility is the real luxury.

Choosing Your Vehicle

Fair groups tend to be larger and more mixed-age than a typical night out, so the vehicle matters.

  • Up to 14: A stretch limo or luxury sprinter — comfortable, easy, and it still feels like an event.
  • 15–24: The classic party bus, with LED lighting, premium sound and room to move.
  • 25–40: Our large coaches, built for extended families, church groups and company outings.

Hourly charters start at $150 per hour, and most fair nights land in the four-to-six hour range. All-day bookings start at $2,000, and simple round-trip transfers to the fairgrounds start at $500.

October Books Up Fast

The fair overlaps with Cardinals home games, ASU football Saturdays and the Valley's Oktoberfest weekends. Those are the same Fridays and Saturdays, and the same fleet.

If you have a date in mind — especially a concert night — reserve three to four weeks out.
