The PRCA divides the country into twelve circuits. The Turquoise Circuit is Arizona and New Mexico — and this is where its season ends.

Every athlete who rides here earned the spot across a full year of rodeos. Nobody is here on a wildcard. That changes the texture of the competition in a way casual rodeo fans feel immediately.

Performances run at 7 p.m. each night, with the gates opening roughly an hour ahead so you can walk the grounds first. Tickets start at around $46, and the three-night format means Thursday, Friday and Saturday each carry their own storyline.

Saturday is the one to circle. That is where the circuit champions get crowned, and the arena knows it.

The Catch Nobody Mentions Until They Are Sitting In It

Cave Creek Memorial Arena sits well off the Loop 101, up Cave Creek Road past Stagecoach Village. It is a beautiful drive in daylight and a genuinely dark, winding one at 10 p.m.

Parking is finite. On a finals weekend, the last mile of approach turns into a slow crawl of trucks and trailers, and the lot empties even slower than it fills.

Then there is the part people actually care about: this is a rodeo. There is beer, there is a bar, and there is a long desert road home afterward. Splitting a group across three cars and hoping everyone makes a good decision at 10:30 p.m. is not a plan.

The Ride: A Rolling Lounge Through the High Desert

Afterward, Cave Creek's saloon row along the main drag stays loud well past the final ride. Your bus waits through all of it, which means the night ends when your group decides it ends.

What to Actually Wear

The arena is open-air and Cave Creek sits about 2,200 feet up. Early November afternoons hit the high 70s; by the time the barrel racers run, it is closer to 50.

Bring a jacket. Everyone forgets, every year.

Boots or closed-toe shoes are the move — the grounds are dirt and gravel. Denim, a good hat, and a flannel or jacket is the uniform, and nobody here is overdressed in it.
