Some experiences are worth the drive. The World's Oldest Rodeo in Prescott is one of them.
From June 29 through July 5, 2026, Prescott Frontier Days returns for its milestone 139th year at the historic Prescott Rodeo Grounds. Eight performances of bull riding, bareback broncs, and barrel racing unfold under the high-country sky, all wrapped in this year's theme: "Celebrating 250 Years of Freedom."
For a group coming up from the Phoenix or Scottsdale area, the rodeo isn't just an event. It's the perfect excuse for a full-day escape into the pines — and the smartest way to do it is together, in one luxury party bus.
The 139th World's Oldest Rodeo
Held continuously since 1888, this is the rodeo that started it all. Evening performances run at 7:30 PM through the week, with matinee shows on Saturday and Sunday at 1:30 PM and mutton bustin' pre-shows that get the crowd roaring early.
The Fourth of July weekend is the centerpiece, complete with the Prescott Frontier Days Parade through downtown's Courthouse Plaza on Saturday, July 4. It is Independence Week in cowboy country, and there is nothing else in Arizona quite like it.
Why a Group Rides Together to Prescott
Prescott sits roughly 90 minutes up the mountain from the Valley. That winding climb is half the fun — when someone else is driving.
Pile everyone into one vehicle and the trip becomes part of the celebration. No caravan of cars getting separated on I-17. No designated driver missing the rodeo dances. No scramble for parking near the grounds.
- Everyone arrives together, relaxed and ready
- Climate-controlled comfort the moment you step off the desert floor
- A rolling lounge for the ride home under the stars
- One trusted chauffeur handling every mile of the mountain highway

Make a Weekend of It: Whiskey Row & Beyond
The rodeo is the headline, but Prescott's legendary Whiskey Row is the after-party. The historic saloons along Montezuma Street have been pouring since the 1800s, and rodeo week brings them to life.
There are Rodeo Dances at the Depot Marketplace on July 2, 3, and 4, plus arts and crafts shows downtown each day. Your chauffeur becomes the anchor of the whole itinerary — drop-off at the grounds, a swing through Whiskey Row, and a safe ride back to your hotel or all the way home.
The Fourth of July Parade
If your group wants the full spectacle, build the day around the July 4 parade at Courthouse Plaza, then roll into the evening rodeo performance. It is small-town Americana at its finest, and arriving in style sets the tone before the first chute even opens.
Booking Your Prescott Rodeo Party Bus
Rodeo week is one of Prescott's busiest stretches of the year, so the earlier you reserve, the better your options. A Prescott round-trip is ideal as an all-day charter, starting at $2,000, while hourly service starts at $150/hr and point-to-point transfers start at $500.
Whether it is a bachelor crew, a family reunion, or a corporate group chasing a one-of-a-kind Arizona experience, Jacob Transportation makes the journey as memorable as the rodeo itself.
